DailyQuotes: How Credits & Limits Work¶
This page explains the user-facing “economy” and limits behind the bot’s main interactive features (quotes, translations, and the Live Quote Editor).
Credits for /quote and /translate_quote¶
On non-premium servers:
- Each successful
/quoteuse costs 1 credit. - Each successful
/translate_quoteuse costs 1 credit. - When you are out of credits, the bot shows your balance and prompts you to vote to earn more.
Free credit cycle:
- You automatically receive 1 free credit every 12 hours.
- Practically, you can use
/quoteand/translate_quoteat least twice per day without voting.
On premium servers:
- These commands do not require credits.
How to check Live Editor edit credits¶
- Use
/show_votesto see your remaining vote-based edit credits for the Live Quote Editor.
Live Quote Editor: edits, cooldown, and font caps¶
When you create a Live Image Quote (via Apps → Image Quote or the /image quotes tutorial):
- Your new quote starts with 3 free edits.
- Each edit you make consumes 1 of your remaining edits (background/font/color/size changes).
- When those 3 edits are used up, further edits come from your vote-based edit credits.
- If you have no edit credits remaining, you will be prompted to vote.
Spam protection:
- Creating a new image quote has a 30-second per-user cooldown.
Font size limits:
- Each font has a maximum size.
- When you reach the maximum for the selected font, the bot will show a “Maximum font size reached!” message and won’t increase further.
Examples:
Agbalumomax size:45OpenSansmax size:45AmaticSCmax size:80
